Christmas eve in Chicago

Christmas spirit comes alive well and truly every year in 'The Windy City' of Chicago. If you're going to be in town for the festive season here are a few annual Christmas activities you should make time for.
The Great Tree is placed at Macy's Department Store every year. Standing at 45 feet tall and covered in red bows, glittering tinsel and thousands of sparkling lights, the sight will blow you away. Might as well get some Christmas shopping done while you're there too...
The opening night of The Magnificent Mile, there is a huge fireworks display which explodes over the Chicago River. For residents, this marks the kick-off of the festive holiday season.

The Chicago Winter Wonder fest includes lots of amazing decorations with over 750,000 Christmas lights, 25,000 ornaments and hundreds of Christmas trees... The activities at Winter Wonder fest include Winter Themed carnival rides, games, music and live bands and entertainment daily. Many families found that this was a great yearly tradition to go to with the kids and return every year. (in addition to going to the walnut room at Macy’s for dinner under the great tree.

Christmas gift shopping can be a nightmare unless you are well organized. Take some time out to plan things before you leave home. If you plan your trip wisely, it is possible to do most of your shopping all in a day.
Remember personalized gifts are not just for the children, adults appreciate them as well.
